Research & academic work.

Alongside studio practice, I research the intersection of design, communication, and emerging technology — with a focus on how AI is reshaping creative labor and practice.

Current Research

Filipino freelancers & AI chatbots.

My MA thesis at the University of the Philippines Cebu examines how Filipino creative freelancers navigate the double precarity of platform labor and AI-assisted tools — and what this means for the future of creative work in the Global South.

The study draws on qualitative interviews and interpretive analysis to map how freelancers develop, resist, and accommodate AI chatbots within their practice — not as passive adopters, but as strategic agents under structural constraint.
